What is a celebration without wine?

Fascinated by wine’s history, art, and science, Brock Meier has long made the wonderful elixir. His parents before him made wine, as did his father’s father. Though not working as professional vintners, these winemakers indulged in the art as amateurs—in the original and truest sense of the word: ‘one who loves’ engaging in a pursuit, simply for itself rather than monetary gain.

Brock Meier has recently bottled a new blend of several of his previous vintages, incorporating two grapes from Chile, a grape from California, and two other red, other-than-grape fruits (yes, it’s a secret recipe). The blend was performed to celebrate the September launch of his debut novel, The Stone Cutter. The book’s front cover is prominent on one version of the labeling, while an historic lithograph by Sir David Roberts of Petra’s Ad Deir monument graces the other.

For those of you who are wondering—no, the wine will not be commercially available and will only be enjoyed by Brock Meier’s friends, family, and some of those who helped launch the book. Sorry! This might be a good reason for you to get on board for helping to launch the second book of his series ≈ Waters In the Desert ≈ next spring! Ask us about it…
